Trade representatives of Russia abroad paid a working visit to the Sakhalin Region

A delegation of Trade representatives of the Russian Federation in Canada and in the countries of the Asia-Pacific region (the Republic of Korea, Malaysia, Singapore and Mongolia) arrived in Sakhalin to get acquainted with the region and it’s investment opportunities. Business mission was organized by the Ministry of Investment Policy with the support of the Ministry of Economic Development of the Sakhalin Region.

“The purpose of this visit is to establish business relationship with the Sakhalin business in order to deliver the necessary goods to the Sakhalin Region, organize export delivery and also to possibly attract investment and create new production capacities in our region. Of particular interest is the development of the coal, food, processing industries and mariculture,” said the Deputy Minister of investment Policy of the Sakhalin Region Sergey Burenkov.

At the meeting, Sakhalin entrepreneurs were informed about the opportunities and limitations for Russian and foreign businesses.
In addition, trade representatives shared the success stories of Russian companies entering the Asia-Pacific markets.
During the discussion of the perspectives for the foreign trade relations development, the Trade representative in Mongolia noted that the country is interested in the supply of seafood, fish and products based on seaweed.
