Sakhalin products gained attention in Belarus

Three Sakhalin companies took part in the international trade fair in Minsk. With the assistance of Export Support Center of the Sakhalin region, canned fish, supplements made of dried seaweed and seal oil were presented. The latter contribute to the prevention of many diseases. Several Belarusian firms immediately expressed a desire to purchase them.

“Not only the entire agricultural system but also the food industry of the country was presented at the fair. The meetings were organized for us at the highest level and we found them very useful. Our seaweed powder can be used as an ingredient for bakery and fruit bars. In general, our supplement is in demand here. We saw a great interest to our product, and I am sure that as a result of the fair new contracts will be signed,” noted Financial Director of “Divia-farm Sakhalin” LLC, Victor Averin.

Fishing companies “Cardinal, LLC” and “Okhotskoe, LLC” also presented their products. They had meetings with the largest retail chains and distributors in Belarus. The program of the fair also included contests, tastings, workshops and seminars.
“At the exhibition we acquired a lot of new contacts, so in future it will help us to sell canned food to new markets, including the Republic of Belarus,” director of “Okhotskoe, LLC” Vyacheslav Fedorov said.

The 32nd specialized fair “Belagro-2022” gathered 425 companies from Belarus, Russia, China, Kazakhstan, Cuba and other countries in Minsk. The expositions presented achievements and innovations in the field of crop production, animal husbandry and poultry farming. Visitors were able to get acquainted with modern technologies for processing, packaging and storage of products, as well as a variety of agricultural machinery.
“The Sakhalin region stand was very popular among the guests of the fair. We were visited by the Ambassador of Russia in Belarus Boris Gryzlov and State Secretary of the Union State Dmitry Mezentsev, who highly appreciated the products of the Sakhalin entrepreneurs. Our region closely cooperates with the Republic of Belarus in agricultural field. We hope that after the fair there will be an opportunity to see more Sakhalin goods being sold in Belarus,” said deputy head of the Sakhalin Export Support Center Maria Yarovenko.
