Sakhalin seafood was presented in China

Representatives of six Sakhalin companies took part in the international exhibition in Fuzhou – China International Seafood & Fisheries Expo (FIFE) with the support of the regional government. These are manufacturers of seafood, dietary supplements from kelp and seal oil.

“We have been processing seafood since 2015. The main product is fresh-dried cucumaria. We have been exporting it to China for more than three years. The exhibition was more than successful. We received a lot of pre-orders for trial batches. It was also interesting to look at similar products from other countries, their packaging and ways of cooking,” – said Viktor Berezhnov, a representative of «AZIAINFO» LLC.
“Our company has been fishing Pacific salmon in the North Kuril region since 2009. Today we sell goods mainly in Russia and Japan. This year we also plan to explorethe Chinese market. It was the first time we took part in an international fair. Impressions are huge. We received a lot of potential contacts. Time will tell how many of them remain. In any case, this is an experience, an opportunity to reach a new level,”– said Elena Safonova, a representative of Granis, LLC.

In total, more than 500 companies from 16 countries and regions of the world, including Indonesia, South Korea, Japan, Ecuador and Russia, presented sea delicacies, goods based on fish products and professional equipment for their production. Financial and organizational assistance to the Sakhalin participants of the exhibition was provided by the regional Export Support Center. Here, thanks to the national project “International Cooperation and Export”, more than 20 services are available forlocal companies.

“The booth of the Sakhalin Region was very popular among the visitors of the exhibition. Besides, for almost all three days of the event, we treated our guests with ready-made seafood – cucumaria and scallop. All companies have held many negotiations with Chinese buyers. We believe that participation in the exhibition will lay a good start in increasing trade between the Sakhalin Region and China,” – said Dina Romanova, head of the regional Export Support Center.
